PA State Certified Kindergarten Teacher. Full day Kindergarten for 2012-2013 school year. Begin employment now to help with planning and certification process.

Full-time Floater. Four 10 hour days. Requirements include:
- 2 years or 2500 hours experience in a childcare setting.
- A love for children and learning
- An interest in an Early Childhood Career

Fishburn Flock Part-Time Opportunities:

Aide for School-age Students. Weekdays, 4-6 pm.
Head Teacher for Youth Summer Enrichment program for grades 5-7. 40 hours/week, June-Aug. A flyer that pertains to this new program is available in the Welcome Wing or from the Flock. Requirements include:
- 2 years or 2500 hours experience in a childcare setting.
- A love for middle school age students and learning
- Ministry/mission minded - interested in community outreach

The Fishburn UMC Staff Parish Relations Committee is taking applications for a part-time secretarial position, of approximately 15 hours per week. They are looking for a person who has a heart for ministry and the following skills:

Secretarial & Receptionist Skills - computer, filing, phone/receptionist etiquette
Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook.
Computer responsibilities would include, but not limited to preparing and printing of church bulletins, newsletters, flyers, and keeping the church calendar updated.
Communication responsibilities would include coordinating events of church calendar with parishioners, Fishburn Flock Daycare, and others who use the church facilities. This would be done through email, phone calls and/or personal contact.

Fishburn Church currently has openings in the following areas. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact the recommended person:

Sound Board Operator for the 10:30 and 11:45 am worship services. Training is provided and a rotational schedule is set up for your convenience. Video Operator for the 11:45 worship service. We are looking for someone to research and play short video clips from various Christian resource sites to add to our 11:45 am worship experience. Assimilation Director: This Staff level position has the responsibility of recruiting, overseeing, and developing leaders in our Welcoming and Small group Ministries. This involves an average 6-8 hours per week and requires a person who is comfortable working with others and encouraging others in the use of their gifts in these areas of ministry. This person would attend Staff meetings and Leadership Council meetings. Please speak with Pastor John if you believe you are being called to this level of ministry and commitment.

Sunday Morning Transporter: Beginning the first Sunday in February our current car/van driver for picking people up on Sunday mornings will no longer continue this ministry. We have two seniors who rely on this ministry to come to worship. If you are willing to bring people to church with your own vehicle or with the Church Chrysler New Yorker Car (or Church Van) please speak with Pastor John.

Who’s Sitting Next To You?

Do you know all the people worshiping with you? Do they know you? A simple way to help us to get to know each other is to make a quick stop in the Welcome Wing to pick up name tags before going to Sunday School or to a worship service. Don’t forget to put your tag back before going home. If you can’t find yours or never had one, there are blank forms and tag holders in a basket.

February Community Supper

February’s supper will be a week early, on Monday, FEB. 20. The menu is Roast Beef, Potatoes & Carrots, and Red Velvet Cake. Order forms (attached to emails & in this week’s bulletin) are due Feb. 15.

Last week’s Pork & Sauerkraut supper raised $250 for Fishburn Local Missions. Thank you to all who contributed in many ways. Fishburn Local Missions has blessed many within our church and community.

Spaghetti Dinner – Get Your Tickets Now!

Fishburn Youth will be selling tickets on Sunday in the Welcome Wing. Dinner will be Sunday, Feb. 26, beginning at 10:45 am. Dine-In or take-out available. $7 per adult. $4 age 5-11. Kids under age 5 eat free. Funds raised will help support Fishburn’s youth programs and help pay for upcoming mission trips.

Community Aid Contributions

To all that have donated clothing by dropping it off in the Community Aid bin on our parking lot, thank you! Not only have you helped others within the neighboring communities, but Fishburn church receives quarterly checks (which benefited Fishburn’s Local Missions) from Community Aid, based on the poundage of the clothing collected from this bin. The total for 2011: $0.04/lb. x 13,650 lbs = $546. That’s a lot of clothes!

But this story gets even better. This past week, Fishburn UMC Youth were given a $5,000 grant from Community Aid to help with renovations to the Youth Room area! This wonderful gift will help us in reaching out to the youth of our community. We are very grateful to Community Aid and Praise God for His provisions.

Patty Hetrick is dealing with serious health problems. The Flock is selling R&K Sandwiches to help her with expenses associated with her condition. Order forms are in the Welcome Wing. Weekly Sermons Can Be Seen on the Fishburn Website

If you are on vacation or miss a Sunday or two over the summer, all the sermons are video taped and downloaded onto the website for you to view. We strive to get them onto the web by Monday evening and many times are able to have them up by Sunday evening. You can view them with your laptop and an internet connection while on vacation! The sermons can be found by clicking on the Service Video Tab at the top of the Home Page. Sermons are listed by date and topics. Just click on the video camera icon to play it or right click if you want to download and save it on your computer. A broadband connection works best.

In addition to the website availability, each sermon is downloaded and burned onto a DVD each week. DVDs are placed in a book in the Resource Room beside the copier. You are welcome to borrow these DVDs anytime just by signing them out and returning them when done. They can be played in your DVD player or on your computer if you have a DVD player installed. They are a higher quality than the website download. If interested in assisting with the video ministry, please contact John Gacesa, Craig Campbell, or Kathy Mitchell with questions.
