Dear Friends,  

Opportunities for change may be a blessing or a curse. The blessing is that these opportunities remind us that by God’s Grace we can all learn, grow, and be changed. The opportunities for change may be a curse by reminding us of the times we have tried and failed.

We can focus on the curse by knowing that most resolutions will be broken by February, that most new health club memberships will be little used in May.           

But at Fishburn we are focusing on the blessing side that opportunities for change bring. We call this blessing—GRACE. And we know that it is a blessing because of the LOVE of God. For January our worship services will focus on understanding and more fully engaging in GRACE. In February we will delve into the LOVE of God impacting all our relationships.          

Please know one thing as you read this—our God is a God of change. God changes the world and changes our hearts and lives. This is our basis for prayer; this is our basis for sharing with one another the love of God; this is our basis for service; because we believe that God is active in us and through us.
